According to a report by analyst firm Canalys, Apple is once again the leader in the smartphone market. Namely, in the last three months of 2021, Apple achieved 22% market share (23% in the fourth quarter of 2020). Samsung recently overtook it in the third quarter, but in the last three months of 2021, Apple has returned to the top of the smartphone market. The success can be attributed to the huge popularity of the iPhone 13 series phones. Moreover, the iPhone 13 proved to be a real hit in China.
As Sanyam Chaurasia, a Canalys analyst, said: “Apple is returning to the top of the smartphone market after the third quarter thanks to excellent iPhone 13 sales. Apple’s supply chain is starting to recover, but the company was still forced to cut production in the fourth quarter due to a lack of key components and was unable to produce enough iPhones to meet demand. In priority markets, the company maintained proper delivery times, but in some markets, customers had to wait to get their hands on the latest iPhones. ”
After Apple. followed by Samsung with 20% market share (17% in the fourth quarter of 2020), Xiaomi with 12% market share (same as in 2020), OPPO with 9% market share (10% in the fourth quarter of 2020) and Vivo with 8 % market share (9% in the fourth quarter of 2020)
