If you are using a Samsung smartphone, it is better to activate Find My Mobile. This function allows you to unlock your smartphone via the internet if you have forgotten your access code. Yesterday I updated our dedicated tutorial and today I’m going to warn you. Let’s take a closer look!
During my career as a tech journalist, I’ve always had mixed feelings about Samsung’s Find My Mobile feature. The use is super simple, the functions are really practical in case of loss or forgetting the access code of your smartphone, but, with the factory settings, most of the functions are deactivated.

If you are using a Samsung smartphone, then you should take the time to check your device settings. You actually have to activate a feature that in the worst case will save your data. With a strong password and two-factor authentication enabled, the ability to unlock through the browser will pose no security risk.
Why you should activate Find My Mobile
Let’s start from the beginning: as you can read in detail in our tutorial showing how to unlock your Samsung smartphone without PIN or password, Samsung offers some handy online tools. On the Find My Mobile website, you can sign in with your Samsung account and access the following features:
- Ring the smartphone
- Lock the smartphone
- Track smartphone location
- Erase smartphone data
- Create backup
- Receive calls and texts
- Unlock the smartphone
- Extend battery life
- Manage parental control features
Many of these settings are factory locked. Samsung thus provides better security, but it somehow makes them unusable. Indeed, if you lose your smartphone or if you forget your PIN code, you will no longer be able to activate these functions. So better do it now.
How to activate Find My Mobile on your Samsung smartphone
To activate them, go to the settings of your Samsung smartphone. There, go to Biometric data and security then in Find My Mobile. In this menu, you can activate remote unlocking, the transmission of the last known position and even a tracking function when the smartphone is switched off.
That’s it that’s all. This small manipulation will save your data in the worst case. Indeed, in case of loss of your unlock code, the only other solution will be to completely reset the smartphone with loss of data.
