The DualSense controller will allow you to feel all the magic of the wizarding world of Hogwarts Legacy on PS5.

Chandler Wood, communications manager at Avalanche Software, explains how the developers have exploited the features of the DualSense for the PS5 version of Hogwarts Legacy : “You will have many spells and the adaptive triggers offer greater flexibility in combat. As soon as you cast a spell, you will feel the full power of your magic, whether it is a basic spell or a particularly powerful charm. The different spells will give you unique sensations thanks to the haptic feedback, which is a direct link between the DualSense controller and your wand. These effects will only affect the right side of the controller. The DualSense will thus become a true extension of your wand in the game. When you parry a spell with Protego, you will feel the crackle of magic absorbed by the Shield charm. Adaptive triggers and haptic feedback aren’t limited to spells and wand use, though. The DualSense controller lets you take full advantage of many events around the world, whether it’s crushing ingredients with a pestle in potions class, feeling the cry of young mandrakes, or soaring through the skies on a broom or a hippogriff.

In partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment, the Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment teams are doing what is necessary for Hogwarts Legacy to be the best video game experience of the Harry Potter license: “We’ve also taken advantage of the DualSense controller’s LED lighting to give you customization options. When not lighting up with the colors of spells cast or wiped, the DualSense controller sports the colors of your Hogwarts house: blue and bronze for Ravenclaw, scarlet and gold for Gryffindor, green and silver for Slytherin, yellow and black for Hufflepuff . Visually, we’ve come a long way since our dear Hagrid on PS1. Hogwarts Legacy on PS5 lets you experience Hogwarts and its surroundings in 4K. You can also choose between Fidelity and Performance graphics modes. This choice will allow you to customize your experience, whether you want to prioritize frame rate or visual fidelity. The PS5’s Tempest 3D audio technology will make you feel like you’re right in the heart of the wizarding world. With the crackling of flames as you cast Incendio, the bubbling of potions in cauldrons, and the unique soundscapes of the various environments, you’ll truly feel like you’re there. And if you’re playing without a headset, you’ll enjoy additional immersive sounds thanks to the DualSense controller’s speaker. In particular, you will hear the beating of the wings of a hippogriff, or the different effects of the spells that you will cast. Plus, thanks to the PlayStation 5 console’s SSD, load times will be fast no matter which way you choose to move: on a broomstick, or through the chimney network. The game will also be compatible with the activity cards and in-game assistance features of the PS5 console.
