The Google-owned streaming platform has added a Spanish-language plan with Spanish-only content, plus an option to add more channels for those subscribers who want to be spoiled. What do YouTube TV’s Spanish packages offer subscribers, and how much do they cost? Continue reading to find out.
YouTube TV Launches a Spanish Plan, Plus an Add-On
YouTube TV announced in a Twitter post that the platform has rolled out a new plan for Spanish-speaking audiences—the Spanish Plan—and a Spanish Plus add-on package you can get separately.
Both the Spanish Plan and its add-on package come with some features that are on YouTube TV’s Base Plan, like the number of accounts you can add and how much DVR space you get.
If you already know about YouTube TV, you’ll find some features you already love in this new plan. However, because the Spanish Plan is cheaper than the Base Plan, it comes with fewer channels. However, you’ll still have the option of adding more through the add-on package. But more on that later.
What YouTube TV’s Spanish Plan Offers
YouTube TV’s Spanish Plan starts at $25/month for the first six months and then goes up to $35/month. And new YouTube TV customers don’t need to be subscribed to the Base Plan in order to get the Spanish Plan.
The Spanish Plan gives subscribers access to more than 28 Spanish-language channels in multiple categories, including telenovelas, live sports, and many more. Some of the channels include Discovery en Español, ESPN Deportes, and CNN en Español.
Just like YouTube TV’s Base Plan, the Spanish Plan comes with unlimited DVR space, and you can add up to six accounts for members of your household.
YouTube TV’s Spanish Plan is only available to people in the US. You can sign up by going to the YouTube TV website and then clicking the TRY IT FREE button in the pop-up window that appears. Or you can scroll down the web page and select the Spanish plan.
What YouTube TV’s Spanish Plus Add-On Offers
YouTube TV has always offered a big list of channels and prices for everyone, and the Spanish plan offers the same. Similar to YouTube TV’s Base Plan add-on, the Spanish Plus add-on package allows you to add more channels to your existing plan.
It gives subscribers access to more than 25 Spanish-language channels, almost as many as the main Spanish Plan offers, at a lower price. The package starts at $10/month for the first six months and then increases to $15/month afterward.
Its catalog includes Universo, The Weather Channel en Español, and Cine Sony, among others.
YouTube TV Is Expanding
Previously, YouTube TV had one plan, which catered to English-speaking viewers. By adding a Spanish Plan, the streaming service is giving the Spanish-speaking market access to its platform, which is a great way to make it a better choice compared to its competition.
Will YouTube TV target more non-English speaking markets with plans in the future? Only time will tell.
