In the QLED television segment, Hisense is trying to find a place among the best manufacturers. To establish itself on the market, the latter offers affordable QLED televisions without neglecting the technical data sheet. The 558UGQ model embeds almost all the latest display technologies for an even more contained price, especially today thanks to this reduction of more than 450 euros.
What to remember about Hisense’s QLED TV

Instead of 999 euros at launch, the 55-inch Hisense 55U8GQ QLED TV is now available at 699.99 euros on the Boulanger site, but thanks to a reduction of 70 euros and an ODR (valid until June 21, 2022) the TV costs you only 529.99 euros. A good quality affordable QLED TV
The Hisense brand has many quality references and if its televisions are more affordable than the competition, the manufacturer ultimately makes few concessions and often offers televisions that meet current expectations. Thus, for the 55U8GQ model, we find a 55-inch panel that is very pleasant to look at, with almost non-existent borders for better immersion. The QLED screen also offers realistic image quality with a wide range of colors. Admittedly, it is not at the level of OLED, but displays richer colors and more intense blacks than LCD models.
Thanks to its 4K UHD compatibility (3,840 x 2,160 pixels), the television provides a beautiful fine image. In addition, it supports the best video standards namely, HDR10, HDR10+, HLG and Dolby Vision for an experience like in the cinema, but at home. As for audio, Hisense partners with Dolby Atmos to deliver immersive sound throughout your room, to recreate a 3D cinema audio experience.
With few concessions
In addition to being able to watch your favorite movies and series on your TV, it is also ideal for playing video games thanks to the presence of 4 HDMI 2.1 ports. For compatible games, you can simply enjoy a better image thanks to the ALLM function (Auto Low Latency Mode) which reduces latency as much as possible. It also supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), handy for combating screen tearing, as well as eARC for high-definition audio feedback to an external sound system. The panel is then 100 Hz, but does not offer 4K with such a high refresh rate for this definition. Too bad, you will therefore be stuck at 60 Hz on PS5 or Xbox Series X, with however the possibility of going up in Full HD at 120 IPS.
Finally, for the TV operating system, we find the brand’s in-house OS: Vidaa U. Even if Android TV is certainly the best, Hisense’s is defending itself rather well. We are entitled to an interface that is easy to understand and above all that gives access to many applications such as Netflix, Prime Video or Disney +, but we should not count on the presence of replay services which are not available. In addition, you only have a say in choosing the program thanks to its compatibility with the virtual voice assistant Alexa.
