Aircash at a European conference on digital payments that showed the direction of industry development

The European Digital Payments Industry Alliance (EDPIA), the European Digital Payments Industry Alliance (EDPIA), gathered the most important representatives of the financial industry and European umbrella companies at the conference Payments Transformed: A Better Deal for Citizens yesterday afternoon in Brussels. a policy aimed at developing a single market for digital payments throughout the European Union.

The conference was held at the top European level, and was attended by numerous representatives of eminent European companies and European Commissioners: Paolo Gentiloni (European Commissioner for Economics), Thierry Breton (European Commissioner for Internal Market), Paolo Bertoluzzo (Nexi Group CEO), Bo Nilsson (Board Member Nexi Group and Nets Group Chairman), Gilles Grapinet (Worldline CEO) and many others.

On that occasion, Hrvoje Ćosić, Aircash CEO, participated in a panel on the most important topics of digital payments, such as the potential revision of the Payment Services Directive (PSD2), open banking and finance, instant payments and central bank digital money (CBDC), together with Eric Ducoulombier ( European Commission), Holger Neuhaus (European Central Bank), Rita Camporeale (European Banking Federation) and Jean Allix (BEUC – European Consumer Organization).

During the panel, Hrvoje Ćosić commented, among other things, on the possible revision of the PSD2 directive as an umbrella act regulating EU payment services.

“The goal of the PSD2 revision should be to create a harmonized EU market and payment environment in the EU. On the one hand, to encourage innovation and development of EU companies, but on the other hand to enable transparency and equal conditions for competition with large technology companies on a global level, “said Cosic.

With expansion in Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Germany and Romania, the number of users has jumped to more than 350,000 users. The functionalities of the application and services are adapted to the needs of the local market, and today Aircash is present at more than 50,000 points of sale throughout Europe.
