Samsung Galaxy S22: Android 13 is just around the corner
Android 13 will be completed by Google in August or September and will then be available for direct download for the Pixel smartphones. But not only Google cell phones will receive the update quickly this year, but also the smartphones from Samsung. There are early signs that Samsung already will soon start beta testing Android 13 for the Galaxy S22 (Source: SamMobile). The name of the firmware for South Korea has already been revealed. This is a strong indication that beta testing is about to start.
Google started public beta testing of Android 13 a few weeks ago. Samsung usually waits some time before Galaxy users can access it. The One UI interface has to be adjusted. With Android 13, Samsung introduces One UI 5.0. There we can expect some changes that will probably be visible on the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4. But it depends on whether the software is ready by the time the new folding cell phones are presented in August.
Samsung’s mid-range phones will also get Android 13:
Samsung plans beta testing in many countries
So far it is only the designation of the Android 13 firmware for Galaxy S22 leaked in South Korea, but that means nothing. When Samsung opens the beta program, Germany will definitely be there. There was an important change to this some time ago. Samsung no longer programs the firmware for individual countries such as Germany, but for the European region. Accordingly, many countries will be able to take part in the Android 13 beta test and the final update should be rolled out very quickly.
We’ll have to wait and see whether everything works the way Samsung wants it to. The plans at least sound promising and would ensure that Android updates appear faster. At the same time, Samsung saves resources because separate firmware does not have to be programmed for each country. So all parties win here.
