Apple TV+ comes with a new film about Formula 1. It now has a major actor in the lead role.
Formula 1 is hot right now. Thanks to Netflix series Drive to Survive and the spectacular title battle between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, the racing class is gaining popularity. Apple TV+ is also responding to this with a new film. It now has a major actor roped in for the lead role.
Brad Pitt getting started for Apple TV+
None other than Brad Pitt is set to star in the new Apple TV+ movie. But it doesn’t stop with the star. Joseph Kosinski sits in the director’s chair. The maker recently received a lot of praise with Top Gun: Maverick.
It took a long time for Apple and Kosinski to come to an agreement for the new film. The two sides were negotiating for about 5 months. Special agreements have therefore been made between the streaming service and the makers. For example, the film will first hit theaters before it appears on Apple TV+.

Striking appointments
The deal isn’t unique to Apple TV+, as it previously had a similar arrangement with A24 surrounding the release of The Tragedy of Macbeth. However, the duration between the theatrical release and the release on the platform is striking. The Formula 1 film will only appear on the streaming service after 30 days. A source even says that the production will only be available on the streaming service after 60 days. However, a partner is still required for the theatrical release. The proceeds will then be split 50/50 between Apple and the filmmakers.
It is still unknown exactly what the Formula 1 film with Brad Pitt will look like. It’s not the only racing competition content on Apple TV+, though. Soon it will also come with a documentary about Lewis Hamilton. What the release dates of both projects are is also still a mystery.
