Ted Lasso is the hit of Apple TV+. The comedy about the American football coach strings together the prizes. However, there is now striking news.
Ted Lasso is a goldmine for Apple TV+. In the series, Jason Sudeikis plays the American football coach of the same name who is appointed to a British football club. Especially the positivity of the character moves many viewers. The series is also very well received by the real film connoisseurs. It managed to win a number of Emmy Awards.
The future of Ted Lasso
With so much success, you might think that the makers and Apple TV+ want to milk the series. But nothing could be further from the truth, because the series ends. Not immediately happy, because there is a third season. After that, though, it’s game over.
The news comes from Brett Goldstein, who you may know better as the Roy Kent. What you probably don’t know is that he is also one of the writers of the series. He makes the following statement about Ted Lasso’s future to the Sunday Times: “The series was planned for three seasons and that’s how we write. I’ll give a spoiler alert: everyone is going to die.”
No real surprise
Still, the news isn’t a big surprise. Co-creator and producer Bill Lawrence made a similar announcement before. He has already said that he does not expect a fourth season of the series. This is mainly because it becomes a bit too much for Sudeikis. “He has two children and is a great father. To be in London for six months for the recordings is intense.”
When we will see the third season of Ted Lasso is of course the big question. It will probably just come out this year, given the previous releases. So it remains to be seen for a while.
