Couchbase has announced the availability of Capella Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) on Google Cloud. Capella uses SQL as query language and can be tested free of charge.

According to Couchbase, companies now have more flexibility in choosing where to deploy Capella. This enables better application customization and support for hybrid and multi-cloud strategies from a single platform.

The manufacturer characterizes its Database-as-a-Service as follows: “Capella is a fully managed DBaaS that outsources database management and reduces costs. Developers benefit from the database flexibility and power for enterprise applications. The familiarity of SQL as a query language from Capella improves learning – and usage curve for developers and enterprises clearly.” For more information, see the “Announcing Google Cloud support for Couchbase Capella, our industry-leading database-as-a-service” blog post. A free trial of Capella is available here.
