DJI is once again improving its flagship stabilizer with this fifth generation. It brings its share of new features and its price is becoming more attractive today, dropping from 159 euros to just 129 euros on Amazon.
When we talk about smartphone stabilizer, the first brand that comes to mind is definitely DJI. It must be said that the brand is not its first attempt and now counts five models. The DJI OM 5 comes to perfect the formula of its predecessors by changing a few points, in particular in terms of its size and even adds a selfie stick. If you want to take advantage of its new features, it is finally experiencing its first price drop and becoming more affordable thanks to this reduction of 30 euros on its initial price.

A product that is getting better and better
With the fifth iteration of its smartphone stabilizer, DJI is once again refining its recipe to maintain its leading position in this sector. The DJI OM 5 takes up the foldable concept of these predecessors, but also brings its share of new features. It loses 25% of its weight to become even lighter, and to slip more easily into the pocket. As for the dimensions, they have also been reduced in order to have a more compact format than before.
This change results in a slightly less pleasant grip, especially for large hands. Aesthetic level, the color brings a little cachet to the device and remains minimalist. There are buttons including the arrival of a new “Toggle” which allows you to switch between the front and rear camera of the phone or between landscape and portrait orientation.
New possibilities for more creativity
With the magnetic attachment system, still in the game, you can use your smartphone with confidence, it will not fall. The big novelty this year is the appearance of a 21.5 cm telescopic pole in the handle. It will simply allow a better framing for vlogs for example, and further expand the possibilities of creation. However, stabilization loses effectiveness when deployed.
Speaking of stabilization, know that the OM 5 is still just as good in its field and hasn’t changed fundamentally since last year. Like its predecessors, the DJI OM 5 offers different modes, including ActiveTrack automatic tracking, which is still just as practical. There is a new ShortGuides mode which makes it possible to recommend sequences adapted to the environment in which the user finds himself. Be aware that the application is poorly optimized for Android devices, which will prevent them from taking full advantage of the product. As for autonomy, we go from a 2,450 mAh battery to one of only 1,000 mAh. An autonomy which is therefore halved, but which still manages to last a good day of use.
