Fallout 5 will not arrive until after The Elder Scrolls 6. In other words, in about ten years, most likely.
In the vast world that is the world of video games, some licenses are absolutely cult, whether you like the genre or not. This is, without a doubt, the case with most Bethesda titles. The studio today gives a small indication as to the release of Fallout 5through its creative director Todd Howard.
Fallout 5 won’t arrive until after The Elder Scrolls 6
Once work on Starfield is complete, which is expected to happen sometime next year, and The Elder Scrolls 6 moves into full-scale production, Bethesda announces that its next project will be Fallout 5. This good news, although very thin, it must be admitted, was shared by Todd Howard during an interview given to IGN.
“Yeah, Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production and, you know, we’re going to do Fallout 5 after that, so our schedule is pretty full for a long time,” said Bethesda’s creative director. “We have some other projects that we work on from time to time, but these take a lot of time. I wish they could get out quicker, really. We do everything we can, but we also want them to be perfect for everyone.”
In other words, in about ten years, most likely
Bethesda announced it was working on Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6 at the same time at E3 2018. Based on the studio’s current development cadence, the latter likely won’t be released until 2027. And if it goes another five years more people working on Fallout 5 after that, so the sequel wouldn’t arrive for another decade or so, around 2032. By then, Microsoft and Sony will most likely have announced and released new consoles. A major climate change could also affect the planet and such a post-apocalyptic game could ultimately only be a reflection of reality. Everything is possible. Anyway, Fallout fans are going to have to wait a long time before discovering a major new installment.
