iOS 16 and macOS Ventura: iPhone mounts for Mac at Amazon
It was the positive surprise at WWDC. An iPhone running iOS 16 can be used as a wireless webcam for a Mac macOS Ventura act. Ideal, because the iPhone not only offers a better resolution, but also enables special functions such as the follow mode. This ensures that the camera pans automatically and the user always stays in focus. The useful feature is currently only available on the Mac, however, in the expensive Apple Studio Display. With the camera handover, many more users will have access to it.
Apple explains the camera handover in the video:
But what to do with the iPhone? At the presentation for the autumn, Apple promised corresponding brackets from Belkin and Co., which are attached to the Mac display. Does that hold up? To be honest, it doesn’t look particularly trustworthy on Apple’s videos. Aren’t there any alternatives?
Two options: With or without table clamp
There are and we have already found them on Amazon. Representing a large number of suitable brackets, we have taken out two different specimens. First there is the gooseneck mount with table clamp from SHAWE. Can be used with different iPhone models and rotated in any direction thanks to the universal clamping head. If you own a MacBook, you simply position the holder behind the notebook and let the iPhone “float” without further ado.

Cost point: Currently available in black or white for just under 15 euros (view at Amazon). With over 2,000 ratings, it is currently enough for a rating of 4.3 out of a maximum of 5 stars. Ergo: Seems to be good despite the low price.
If you don’t really trust a table clamp, you could alternatively opt for the Variant with stand from the same manufacturer heat. It doesn’t have to be attached to the table, just put it on and you’re good to go. There is still a secure hold, because the stand is made of aluminum alloy and stainless steel. Thanks to this construction, the position can also be changed more quickly and the stand with iPhone holder can be moved from one room to the next.

So much comfort costs one euro more, the version is available for just under 16 euros, also in black or white (view at Amazon). With more than 600 reviews, it currently has a rating of 4.5 out of a maximum of 5 stars.
Bottom line: Even if the final versions of iOS 16 and macOS Ventura will not be available until September: it is already clear that this practical accessory will become increasingly important for iPhone and Mac users in the future.
