Europe’s biggest video game show will have to make a splash by next August without Nintendo, Activision-Blizzard, Take-Two Interactive, Wargaming and Sony Interactive Entertainment for its return with a hybrid format.
A participation of Sony Interactive Entertainment to the Gamescom 2022 is not on the agenda, as are potential announcements and gameplay demos at Gamescom: Opening Night Live. The program produced by Geoff Keighley requires a presence in the Entertainment Area of the Koelnmesse through a stand to be highlighted. If Nintendo, Activision-Blizzard, Take-Two Interactive and Wargaming have also declined the invitation, publishers Sega, Bandai Namco, Koch Media, THQ Nordic and Level Infinite (Tencent) will participate in the German event.
