Also new is multi-frequency reception (GPS, GLONASS and GALILEO) on both frequency bands. This should help to determine your position more precisely in demanding environments such as urban canyons, mountain valleys or in dense forests.
The bike computer also contains the new functions cycling ability and route requirements. With the help of these plus compatible sensors, your own strengths and weaknesses become visible and can be compared with the route requirements.
There is also a power guide to find the optimal use of power for a route or its altitude profile and to create a performance strategy. The Stamina feature tracks cycling performance and shows real-time personal remaining energy.
The Edge 1040 (solar) is now available for 600 euros (without solar, RRP) or 750 euros (solar, RRP).
