The Vivo X80 Pro will arrive in France on June 30. Here is a small anthology of the points that seduced us the most after a few days spent in contact with him.
After an X60 Pro that we greatly appreciated and an X70 Pro that has never reached our green lands, Vivo is finally throwing itself into the battle of ultra high-end smartphones. Its contender for the title is called Vivo X80 Pro, it costs 1299 euros and offers for this price a myriad of small photo and video options, but not only. Go follow the guide.
The wow effect of 360 degree mode
It may not be the most useful option that it incorporates, but it is certainly the one that will impress those around you the most. The Vivo X80 Pro can shoot videos with near-perfect horizon leveling stabilization. What does that mean ? Clearly, by activating a certain mode, you can film by leaning your phone any way, even putting it upside down and you will see your video maintaining a perfectly stable horizon line.

Despite some small artifacts and not always top quality (the stream is limited to 1080p definition at 30 fps), the result is still quite stunning. The first time we saw it was on the IQOO 8 Pro, a representative of the Vivo sub-brand not yet present in Europe.
The sonic 3D fingerprint sensor
I never thought I would write this sentence one day but I managed to snatch an exclamation of surprise from my two colleagues Anthony and Robin with a fingerprint sensor. The object of the crime: a sensor larger than usual, but also much faster.
With the X80 Pro, you just have to pass your finger once over the sensor for it to register the fingerprint. No need to come back to it twelve times, just once and you’re ready to go. In addition, the sensor has a very large surface, no need to aim to put your finger, the area is very wide. Let us add that the sensor is of an exemplary reactivity.

In hand, some may find it a bit bulky, since it is still a beautiful baby weighing 219 grams with significant dimensions of 164.57 x 75.30 x 9.10 mm. The photo block, although occupying a large surface, has the merit of spreading over the entire width of the phone, which gives an impression of balance and stability held in the hand. On the other hand, this same photo block quickly turns into a fingerprint fair, a shame when all the rest of the phone resists it effectively.

In use, there are really no false notes to report. The curved 6.78 QHD+ screen is truly a beauty, the chin is tiny, the rounded edges fall perfectly into the palm. In addition to this, the FuntouchOS 12 (Android 12) home interface is fluid, sober and efficient. Too bad however not to have more integrated Monet and Material You.
