To celebrate the 20th anniversary, there is a new desktop version with a fresher look and larger images. Other innovations have also been announced.
New desktop version
Starting today, Wednesday, Google is introducing a new design for Google News on desktop. There is a new selection, the layout has become clearer and – if you like it – there are more recommendations. At first glance, it certainly looks a lot tidier. For example, the area Local News Moved to the top of the page to make it easier to find. There is now a filter button to add multiple locations to the local news area.

And starting today, when you’re signed in with your Google account, you’ll be greeted by this sight:

Tipp: If you don’t like the new design, you can restore the previous version in the settings (gear icon). Just tick the box there Use the new Google News now remove.

Also, Google News is returning to Spain after an eight-year hiatus – due to a new copyright law.
