With the Mate Xs 2, Huawei is bringing a new edition of its folding smartphone to Germany. However, due to US sanctions, buyers have to do without Google services and a 5G-capable processor with this model as well.

In May, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei announced the Mate Xs 2 for the European market at an event in Milan. The new edition of the folding smartphone is now available in stores in Germany and in the company’s online shop.

At the high price of 1,999 euros, the device offers a 7.8-inch OLED display folded outwards with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz; Inside, a Snapdragon 888 4G processor does its job, which can access 8 GB of RAM.

There’s also a 4,600 mAh battery with 66W fast charging, 512 GB of expandable main storage, and a triple camera setup with a 50-megapixel main lens, optical zoom and wide-angle. At 255 grams, the Mate Xs is not a featherweight, but it is already significantly lighter than its predecessor.
