It’s only been a few weeks since the 13 “MacBook Pro with the new Apple M2 processor went on sale, so it’s no wonder the internet is packed with the experience of recent owners who bought the redesigned MacBook Pro (originally introduced in November 2020). quite an interesting feature, respectively unexpected minus the M2 variant in comparison with the version equipped with the M1 chipset.

The storage speed test (mediated by the Blackmagic Disk Speed ​​Test) revealed that at least the basic 13 “MacBook Pro (ie with 256GB of storage) with M2 is much slower in terms of write and read speed. The difference is quite striking: when writing it’s a drop of up to 50%, and at a read speed it’s up to 34% slower than an SSD on a MacBook Pro equipped with an M1 chipset.
