Let’s start with an interesting change: iCloud backups are now finally possible over the mobile network. In addition, there is the possibility of reporting messages from unknown numbers to the network operator as spam – we assume that this is only possible in the USA. There are also new functions for iMessage – on dual SIM devices, messages can be filtered depending on the line.
There are also interesting changes for the HomePod, at least if you also use the beta software there. You can manage the installation of new versions via the new Home app, but also stop participating in the beta program.
Logos in Mail and more for the lock screen
Logos are also new in Mail – this is how brand logos are made. The BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) shows verified brand logos in emails. In addition, there is the note “Digitally Certified” which is intended to indicate the authenticity.
There are also improvements to the lock screen. There are two new color filters for photos, the astronomy wallpaper shows the location on the globe.
