The new Dimensity 9000+ is again based on the 4nm process technology from TSMC. Better performance will be provided by a slightly higher clock speed of the processor cores.
It consists of one Cortex-X2 core clocked at 3.2GHz, three Cortex-A710 cores clocked at 2.85GHz and four Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 1.8GHz.
The graphics are handled by the Mali-G710 MC10 graphics coprocessor, and supports FHD + refresh screens up to 188Hz and QHD + refresh screens up to 144Hz.
With this refresh, MediaTek announces 5% better processor and 10% better graphics performance.
The Imagiq 790 ISP image processing unit supports cameras with sensors up to 320MP and video recording up to 4K 60fps HDR10 +.
What the Dimensity 9000+ doesn’t have, and its predecessor didn’t have, is support for mmWave 5G connectivity.
It is rumored that this chip is better than Samsung’s Exynos 2200 chip, and it is likely that Samsung will equip its top models with chips from Qualcomm and MediaTek for the next two years.
