According to Microsoft’s blog post, these innovations are primarily intended to make it easier for small companies to use teams, although the innovations naturally apply to everyone.
The first innovation in the browser app are the background effects, with which you can either blur the background of your own environment or replace it with your own background image, for example if you are in the home office and do not want to appear too private in the meeting.
The live subtitles, which convert the spoken word into subtitles in real time in conferences, now work in the browser as well as the live recordings, which record the entire content of a meeting as a written protocol. However, these functions can be regulated or blocked by administrators. A total of 27 languages are supported, including German.
Last but not least, real-time translation using CART captioning is now supported within the Teams window.
