According to Tom Henderson of the Try Hard Guides site, Sony was working on a new controller for its PlayStation 5. A DualSense “Pro” which would be closer in spirit to the Xbox Elite Series controller.
Since its launch, the PlayStation 5 has long only had the DualSense controller at its service (and your old DualShock4 if you want). It must be said that this has brought to the Sony console some well-founded innovations such as adaptive triggers or haptic feedback. But it still fails on many points such as autonomy or its lack of possibilities for more advanced players.
Scuf recently released the Scuf Reflex, a controller with paddles on the back, configurable profiles and grips (test to come on Frandroid). Despite its high price, it is currently the most “Pro” of the controllers available for PS5, with a Scuf Reflex FPS version for the most advanced.
A PS5 controller finally designed for demanding players
But that could soon change. According to the always very well informed Tom Henderson, insider who provides his information on the Try Hard Guides site, Sony has a new, more efficient DualSense in its boxes. Under the code name “Hunt”, there is a real Pro controller for the PS5. And it would even be presented shortly, he says, citing well-informed sources.

Among the expected new functions, he announces in particular removable analog sticks which can be changed or replaced, buttons on the back like paddles found at Scuf or Nacon, or even trigger stops to better feel the different adaptive trigger levels. In addition, removable grips would also be provided for better grip. Everything that is found on the current Scuf Reflex or even on the Xbox Elite Serie 2 clearly in Sony’s sights, which does not have a controller for the most demanding and hardened players.
Tom Henderson explains that he had access to visuals of a possible prototype being developed at Sony – shots that he was unable to publish at the request of his source. The DualSense “Pro” would visually resemble the current controller and would be called “PS5 Pro controller”.

Important software updates would be planned to give its full potential to the newcomer. According to the sources of l’insiderit should be “very soonrevealed. Information consistent with the latest rumors that report a presentation in the coming weeks from Sony to unveil several products.
