Among other things, Joseph Guadagno is a Microsoft Developer Services MVP. In an extremely useful blog post, he explains how to get rid of .NET legacy on the development machine.

As a speaker at events and as a blogger, Joseph Guadagno has repeatedly tried intermediate and preview versions of .NET and they left a lot of marks on his computer. Most recently he re-installed the latest latest version of .NET and took the time to check which old SDK and Runtime versions he had on his machine. And he was quite surprised when he saw how many versions of .NET were on his computer: he found around 20 versions of .NET SDKs on the computer and just as many .NET runtimes.

Clearly he decided to clean up some of the older versions of .NET SDKs and Runtime. In his blog post, he describes the tools he uses and the experiences he has made.
