Snapchat launches a subscription service for its social network: Snapchat+. On the program, exclusive functions, but not much more.
After Telegram, it’s Snapchat’s turn to announce a subscription formula to find a new means of financing. A paid formula which in particular allows Snapchat to deal with Apple’s new measures on advertising tracking.
A collection of exclusive features
Snapchat+ is the name of the new subscription unveiled by Snapchat without too much originality. The firm announces that more than 332 million users are on Snapchat every day to share their creativity. With Snapchat+, it promises to bring a collection of exclusive, experimental, and pre-release features to subscribers. A sort of preview, which some might call a paid beta, for a price announced at 3.99 dollars per month. This should translate into a subscription at 3.99 euros per month in France.
For Snapchat, it is a question of delivering its new functions in priority to its most passionate customers with a privileged after-sales service. Snapchat+ will be launched in France, but also in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and of course in the United Arab Emirates. The most popular influencers should not miss this opportunity. Other countries will eventually be involved.
The firm does not say more about the functions in question. We only know that it will not remove advertising from the service, unlike most offers freemium.
Early subscribers were able to check out the ability to change the style of the Snapchat app icon, see who with review a story and pin friends to the top of the chat list.
