In the run-up to the WorldWide Developers Conference 2022, we have seen an incredible amount of rumors. Some of them were right. Others have completely missed the mark.
That also applies to an Apple Watch functionality that is said to be introduced with watchOS 9. Although we were quite excited about it, every trace seemed to be missing during the WWDC 2022 keynote. Unfortunately.
No trace of Apple Watch functionality
WatchOS 9 was unveiled at last Monday’s WWDC 2022 keynote. Thanks to the update, the Apple Watch gets a lot of new functionalities. For example, more specific workouts for runners, new watch faces and an improved sleep monitor. Nice improvements, although unfortunately there was the feeling that something was missing. One functionality was left behind.
Despite the words of a reliable journalist Mark Gurman Apple did not introduce an improved saving mode for the Apple Watch. Besides the fact that it was not mentioned during Monday’s keynote, the first beta version also lacks any trace of the function. So it seems very likely that we have to make do with the current approach of the function.

The big question is, of course, whether the functionality is actually gone. There is a possibility that the Apple Watch Series 8, which will probably see the light of day later this year, will introduce the functionality. Although that is a prediction that we are extremely careful with.
All about WWDC 2022
Fortunately, the WorldWide Developers Conference 2022 has not disappointed us at all. The releases of iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9, and macOS 13 Ventura were packed with great additions. For example, iOS has a new lock screen, Ventura uses Stage Manager and your iPad works even more like a computer.
