After two years of development, The Last of Us Factions shows itself through an illustration.
Neil Druckmann, Co-President of Naughty Dog alongside Evan Wells, reveals the first information concerning The Last of Us Factionsthe multiplayer mode of The Last of Us 2 (sold, to date, more than ten million copies worldwide) which is now standalone: “It’s as big as any of the single-player games we’ve done, and somehow bigger. It has a story – the way we tell that story is very unique in this game. It has a whole new cast of characters – it takes place in another place, another part of the United States… and it’s really cool . It’s overseen by Vinit Agarwal, Anthony Newman, and Joseph Pettinati – all Uncharted and The Last of Us veterans – and you’ll be seeing plenty more of them coming next year.”

As with the remake of The Last of Us, The Last of Us Factions should be released on PS5 sometime next year, but also have the right to a PC version: “This is an extremely ambitious project. We have been constantly developing our studio to create this large-scale indie game that will offer a huge world worthy of The Last of Us and Naughty Dog games. Our goal for this new multiplayer installment is to attract new players, while providing an exciting new challenge for our most seasoned fans.”
