We show how you can take part in the Windows Insider program – and how you can download the major Windows 11 update (22H2) now.
A notice: Early versions of new Windows releases usually contain bugs that, in the worst case, could also lead to data loss. The Windows Insider program is therefore aimed at the experienced Windows user group who knows what to do in an emergency. In other words, you’d better not become an insider if you use this Windows pre-release on a computer that you need for productive purposes (work, e-banking, etc.). Likewise, insiders should pay even more attention to regular backups of the most important data. And you always need a plan B: If something goes wrong, you should e.g. B. Have a Windows installation USB stick with repair tools within reach.
- Click the Startbutton, then click settings
- Click on the menu Windows Update
- Click in section Participate in the Windows Insider Program on First steps
- Once you have completed the procedure, you can check at the same place whether a corresponding insider update is available
The current Windows update includes, for example, live subtitles for audio content, a revised task manager (new layout, dark mode), better window management with a snap function, a do not disturb mode and expanded drag and drop operation within applications.
