When the line ruler is active in Word, it defaults to centimeters on systems with Central European region settings. It can display millimeters, inches, points, or picas instead.

Do you have a line ruler visible at all in Word? It’s quite possible that it’s missing, because it’s usually not needed when writing continuous text. But at the latest when working out a letter layout, it is very helpful again. We show it using Word from Office 365 (2205) on Windows 11.

If the ruler is missing at the top and left edge of the sheet, switch to the tab Opinion. flap To sue up and put a tick on Lineal.
As mentioned, a centimeter scale usually appears in this country. The intermediate lines between the whole centimeters are 0.25 and 0.5 centimeters respectively.
Scale in inches, millimeters, points or picas
However, maybe you would like millimeters or need the scale divided into inches, points or picas for a specific project.
Open in Word File/Options and go to advanced. In the right pane, scroll down about halfway until you get to the section To sue reach.
