Xiaomi smartphones: It’s that easy to take better photos | TechBuzz

Smartphones have long since replaced classic cameras. Modern mobile phones have cameras that produce excellent images. But even when taking pictures with your cell phone, you should know a few tricks. One of them is extremely practical and can be changed over quickly. With this you almost automatically take better photos.

Xiaomi phones: enable grid lines in the camera

Your Xiaomi smartphone’s display acts as a viewfinder, shutter button, shortcut to gallery, settings, and more when you’re in the camera app. You quickly lose focus on the subject. Part of the preview will be covered by the shutter button, especially if you don’t take the picture in the 4:3 aspect ratio, but in 16:9. The result then speaks for itself, because the subject was not hit in the middle. But Xiaomi has integrated a solution for this. You can display grid lines:

Xiaomi cell phones generate nine boxes by default. After that, all you have to do is make sure that you hit your subject in the middle. But why is that so important? Quite simply: the entire calculation of the photo in automatic mode is generated via the center. For example, how the colors appear, how bright the photo is, the sharpness, exposure time and much more. The image is generated on the basis of this information. If you deviate from your target and don’t hit it in the middle, the photo cannot turn out as you would like it to.

The option is particularly important for Xiaomi phones with good cameras:

Better photos with gridlines enabled

Since turning on gridlines on the phones I test or own, my photos just get better. I know exactly where the center of a subject is, so I can hit exactly what I want to photograph. This is extremely important, especially at night, because then it is even more decisive how bright and sharp a photo really is. When I use a new cell phone, this is one of the first settings I change.
