Zalando bought a majority stake in Highsnobiety, merging content and commerce ICT Business | TechBuzz

Zlando, one of Europe’s leading online platforms for fashion and lifestyle, and Highsnobiety, the world leader in a new luxury culture, jointly announced today that Zalando has acquired a majority stake in Highsnobiety. Both sides agreed not to disclose the financial details of the acquisition. During the realization of the mentioned acquisition, Highsnobiety used the consulting services of Liontree, V14 – Vogel, Heerma & Waitz and Taxess. Zalando was simultaneously advised by White & Case, PwC and McKinsey.

As part of the acquisition, Highsnobiety will retain its editorial and curatorial autonomy, and the publishing house and consulting agency will remain completely independent. Highsnobiety will be headed by its two directors, David Fischer and Jürgen Hopfgartner, while founder David Fischer will retain a minority stake in the business.

Companies will join forces to continue to lead the industry in engaging and inspiring their customers. In doing so, she will take advantage of her complementary strengths by combining cultural relevance and knowledge, Highsnobiety’s fashion authority and storytelling expertise with the fashion network, e-commerce knowledge and experience, and Zaland’s business skills.

Highsnobiety will continue to operate independently, but at the same time will act as Zaland’s strategic and creative advisor and help the company develop new areas and formats inspired by inspiration on its platform. Highsnobiety’s unique capabilities will support Zalando’s ambitions to add inspiring experiences to customer research, as well as to create an exciting and engaging environment for customers and brands. In return, membership in the Zalando Group will enable Highsnobiety to build its own capacity in the field of e-commerce.
