Amazon is the best known and most popular e-tailer in France. With its Amazon Prime service, the web giant offers many advantages to its subscribers. These include free delivery within 24 hours, access to the Prime Video catalog (with original content such as The Boys, The Man in the High Castle…), a Twitch Prime subscription or exclusive flash sales.

If you’re not interested in the many Prime-related services, but still signed up for fast delivery, it’s important to point out one thing: the subscription renews automatically. Be careful not to end up paying for a service you don’t – or no longer – need! Especially since prices increase in 2022.

Fortunately, there is an easy way to cancel your Amazon Prime subscription and even get a full refund in some cases.

The Prime subscription management page is quite basic and summarizes the main information about your account at the top: your type of Prime subscription, your automatic renewal date, the method of payment used for said subscription and finally, the management of the subscription to end his membership.

Cancel Amazon Prime Auto-Renewal

Click in the last rectangle on Update, cancel and more to continue and get to the last step.

Amazon then offers two options:

  • Send me a reminder before renewal
    • A reminder will be sent by email three days before the renewal in order to be able to terminate your renewal at the right time.
  • End my benefits
    • The Amazon Prime subscription stops immediately.

If you click on the second option, a new window will remind you of the remaining time before your next billing. You will then again have the choice between a reminder before the expiry date, another subscription offer or the cancellation of the subscription.

Between the reminder or the immediate end, you can thus manage the termination according to your desires. The first option still seems the most appropriate, it is thus possible to continue to benefit from Prime during your subscription period and you will be notified when you approach the fateful renewal date.

If you click on End my benefitsyou will receive an email confirming the immediate end of your subscription and the cancellation of access to Prime services such as free fast delivery or Prime Video.

Amazon is also offering registrants who haven’t used Prime services at all a full refund. To do this, simply contact the company’s Customer Service, which will do the necessary.
