Apple has rolled out the fourth beta version of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 to public testers. These are the two new operating systems that will be available on the iPhone and iPad this fall.
Testers with the right profile can download the new version immediately. Developers were already able to do that yesterday.
Fourth developer beta iOS 16 and iPadOS 16
iOS 16 is the new operating system for your iPhone and iPadOS 16 for your iPad. Both systems were announced at WWDC 2022 and will be available to all consumers in the fall of this year. Until then, beta testers can completely sift through the system and prepare their own applications.
The new operating system is also something to be excited about. iOS 16 will be one of the biggest iPhone updates in years. For example, the software introduces a brand new lock screen. As an iPhone user, you can set and format the screen completely to your own liking. Big numbers, different fonts and widgets on the screen: it’s all possible.
iMessage gets a very handy addition, you can share the photo library with other people and the focus mode is being overhauled. Want to know everything about iOS 16? Be sure to check out this article.
iPadOS 16 will bring a lot of improvements, but the arrival of Stage Manager is perhaps the best. Just like with macOS Ventura, this ensures that there is an overview and the focus can remain on one task. In this article we tell you all about it.
How to install the beta version
To install the new beta version, go to the update screen as public testers on your iPhone or iPad. This can be found via Settings -> General -> Software Update. As soon as you have the right profile on the smartphone or tablets, the fourth beta version will soon appear.
Don’t you currently have the right profile on your Mac? Then go to the Apple Software Beta Program website via this link. There you can register as a developer, so that you can install the correct profile.
