Leslie Benzies wants to push the limits of video games and revolutionize entertainment with the Build A Rocket Boy studio.
In six years, Build A Rocket Boy brought together over 400 game developers and technology innovators in offices in Edinburgh, Budapest and Los Angeles to bring to life Everywherean ambitious AAA open-world sci-fi game consisting of a multiplayer experience incorporating an epic multi-chapter narrative, user-generated content through a virtual sandbox where players can create their own worlds and deep social/streaming integrations.
Build A Rocket Boy’s Everywhere is in safe hands
To strengthen the Build A Rocket Boy studio, Leslie Benzies has surrounded himself with three veterans of the video game industry, namely the director of business development Mick Hocking (Evolution Studios, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Codemasters), the vice-president of marketing Murray Pannell (2K Games, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Ubisoft) and publishing director Randall Price (NCSoft, ArenaNet): “Since 2016, the team has slowly grown and today, we are delighted to publicly welcome our new recruits. Each of them brings an enormous amount of experience, knowledge, and passion to Build A Rocket Boy as we continue to develop Everywhere. We look forward to revealing more news later in the year.”
If Build A Rocket Boy began developing Everywhere using the Amazon Lumberyard graphics engine, the former GTA producer at Rockstar North has since favored Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5. Note that Galaxy Interactive, a company that invested in Build A Rocket Boy, describes Everywhere as a life-size Ready Player One.
