In the wake of high temperatures in Europe, Valve similarly warned Steam Deck users.
“For our friends in the midst of a heat wave, a quick note about the Steam Deck in high temperatures. Steam Deck works best in ambient temperatures between 0° and 35° C. If the temperature gets higher than this, Steam Deck may begin to throttle performance to protect itself,” Valve said on Twitter.
Valve goes on to explain that slowing down Steam Deck means that the device is “protecting itself and you from harm”. The Steam Deck will, they say, shut down if the device’s internal temperature exceeds 105° Celsius.
