To easily and quickly give a boost to your Android smartphone which seems to be dragging, there is a very simple operation to perform.
It doesn’t matter which browser you use on your smartphone Android, it accumulates files over time. If you do nothing, these end up taking up a lot of space on your device. And this not only slows down your browser, but also your entire phone. The solution is simple: do not hesitate to regularly delete these files.
Each browser has a slightly different procedure for cleaning cache and temporary files. Below are the procedures for the most common:
Chrome
Open the browser, tap on the Menu button with the three small dots, go to “History > Clear browsing data”.
From there, make sure the “Period” option is placed on “All data” and check “Cookies and site data” and “Cached images and files”. Then tap on “Clear data”.
Samsung Internet
If you have a Samsung smartphone, chances are you’re using the South Korean giant’s in-house browser. Open it, tap on the Menu button with the three small lines in the upper right corner. Go to “Settings > Personal data > Clear browsing data”. There, choose “Cookies and site data” and “Cached images and files”. Then tap on “Clear data” and confirm.
Firefox
Tap on the Menu button with the three small dots at the top right of the screen, then go to “History > Clear browsing data”. Check “Cookies” and “Cached images and files”. Then tap on “Clear data”.
How to clean the cache of any Android app
If you’re using a less common browser like Brave or Opera, look for the History section in Settings and you’ll find the option.
There’s also a more global option to clear the cache of any app, though don’t use it for an app like your password manager or your bank as you could lose important data. Open the settings of your Android smartphone then go to Apps & Notifications (or Aps) > App Info” and choose the app whose cache you want to clear. Then go to the “Storage and Cache” section and tap on “Clean cache”. Temporary files will be instantly deleted.
