PS5 tariff package at o2: That’s in it
On eBay, the PS5 still traded at prices around 700 euros. If you don’t want to or can’t spend this amount at once, you have the option of using the console in the o2 Digital Edition Pay off in installments with the mobile phone tariff (view the offer at o2). This is especially worthwhile if you can not only use the PS5, but also a new cell phone with a lavish 5G contract. At o2 you are currently getting the NextGen console as a bonus “o2 Grow” mobile phone contract along with the game Horizon Forbidden West and High-End-Smartphone Xperia 1 IV. You pay for the whole package 83.99 euros per month plus a one-time fee of EUR 45.98 for additional payment, connection fee and shipping. What’s special: The anniversary tariff initially includes 40 GB LTE/5G as well as an Allnet and SMS flat rate and grows by 10 GB from year to year without costing more.
PS5 in the mobile phone tariff bundle at o2: is the deal worth it?
Signing a mobile phone contract just to finally get hold of a PS5 sounds like trickery at first. We have therefore calculated the offer. For comparison, we use the regular “o2 Grow” tariff, which is only available until September 6, 2022 as part of the 20th anniversary 29.99 euros per month costs.

Let’s get out the calculator: According to the idealo price comparison, the PS5 (Digital Edition) with Horizon Forbidden West currently costs at least 700 euros and the Sony Xperia 1 IV is available for around 1,200 euros.
If these values are subtracted from the total costs over a 24-month contract period, they remain 161,74 Euro left for the tariff. Corresponding 6.74 euros per month for an Allnet and SMS flat rate with 40 GB LTE/5G data volume. The normal price for the “o2 Grow” tariff is 29.99 euros per month – So that’s a very good deal. In view of the high monthly price, the purchase is only worthwhile if you can also use the smartphone.
Of course, the calculation above only works if you cancel at the end of the minimum contract period. It is up to you whether you should do this, although the tariff increases in data volume every year and thus gains in value, although the costs remain the same. After the minimum term of 24 months, you have paid off the hardware and the tariff then costs the regular 29.99 euros and can be canceled monthly.
