There are Apple Memoji, Bitmoji or the French Bouletmaton and there will soon be WhatsApp avatars. This is what the latest beta of the service reveals, bringing the app to version 2.22.16.11, as spotted by the specialized site Wabetainfo.

This feature will therefore allow you to create your own personalized avatar which will be used in written conversations, but also as a filter on video calls. You won’t have to reveal your face.

If this first image of WhatsApp avatars reminds you of something, it’s normal. These are simply the avatars already used on Facebook. As a reminder, the two services belong to the giant Meta led by Mark Zuckerberg.

Wabetainfo also indicates that avatars created on WhatsApp can also be used as stickers to send to contacts.
