Comfortable in-ear headphones
To design its Redmi Buds 3 Pro, Xiaomi did not take inspiration from Apple for the design this time. Here, no rod format like the AirPods: we are therefore entitled instead to an in-ear format with silicone tips, which nestle in the ear canal. The main advantage of this design? Isolation and sound quality. Indeed, the silicone tips block out some of the surrounding noise. For the sound quality, the sounds do not escape from the ear canal, which is a very good point. And not to spoil anything, the maintenance of these headphones will be effective, since they can be worn for several hours without feeling any particular discomfort. And this, even during sport, since they are IPX4 certified against splashes.
True wireless with active noise reduction
When it comes to features, Xiaomi has focused on active noise reduction. The Redmi Buds 3 Pro are thus equipped with three levels of noise reduction, which will be activated automatically according to the ambient noise picked up. On the other hand, as we noticed during our test, the headphones have a little trouble adapting to the sounds around them. It is also impossible to change modes without holding the application. Despite everything, the noise reduction will be rather appreciable when it is pushed into “deep suppression” mode, which is responsible for attenuating high and constant noise. We can also count on the presence of the transparency mode.
Well-present multipoint Bluetooth
Another feature offered by the Redmi Buds 3 Pro: multipoint Bluetooth is included. Thanks to this mode, it will be possible to connect simultaneously to several devices without having to disconnect one of them to operate the device you want. On the audio side, the Xiaomi Redmi Buds 3 Pro are equipped with a 9 mm diameter transducer and are only compatible with AAC and SBC codecs. If they do not particularly shine by their sound reproduction, with in particular messy low frequencies, the headphones of the Chinese brand at least have the advantage of managing the treble well.
Finally, regarding their autonomy, the Xiaomi Redmi Buds 3 Pro were able, during our test, to last 6h16 before they ran out of battery. All this with a sound volume of 80%. For charging in the case, it will take just under 40 minutes to recover 100% battery. Wireless charging of the case by induction will also be available.
