Already knew? On the iPhone, you don’t necessarily have to delete apps if you don’t have enough memory, you can also outsource them as an alternative. outsource? What is meant by this and what is the difference to deletion?
iPhone trick: outsource apps instead of deleting them to create space
Any bet: There are many apps on your iPhone that you don’t necessarily need, or not always. For example, a game that you are done with, or applications that you only use on vacation, for example. Otherwise they just waste valuable storage space. However, you don’t want to lose all data, settings or chat histories forever, direct deletion is out of the question. What you can do: Outsource the apps in question. How this works in detail, we explain in the following video:
The decisive advantage: in the case of outsourcing, the app itself is deleted, but all personal data is retained. If you install the app again later, you can use the app as before and can directly access your data again. Good to know: The app icon remains on the home screen. The small cloud next to the app name then symbolizes the outsourcing, which can be reversed at any time.
Automatic on request
If desired, the outsourcing process can also be automated. then the iPhone will regularly swap out unused apps on its own and thus automatically create storage space. Useful for all users who simply don’t have time for such clean-up actions. We also explain how this works in the video above.
Nevertheless: If you no longer want to use apps in the future, please delete them directly to free up space. Otherwise, you keep a back door open for later use by outsourcing – damn handy.
