The name Plaion is formalized, Koch Media no longer exists.
Since four years, Koch Media is one of ten operating groups of Embracer Group alongside Deep Silver and unites studios Dambuster, Fishlabs, Milestone, Warhorse, Vertigo Games, Volition, Voxler, Flying Wild Hog, DigixArt as well as labels Prime Matter and Ravenscourt under his banner. In order to better establish itself internationally, Koch Media abandons its name, which was problematic in certain countries because of its pronunciation. Place now in Plaion (Play-On).

Plaion’s logo represents the interactive “Play” button, as well as the letter “P”, illustrating the first letter of Koch Media’s new name. The ribbon is a symbol of connection and bond with the digital entertainment ecosystem of which it is the leader.
Klemens Kundratitz explains why Koch Media is getting a makeover and becoming Plaion:
Over the past 28 years, we have built a strong business in which we have partnered with many key players in the industry. By joining the Embracer group in 2018, our growth has accelerated and we continue to diversify. In order to reflect the evolution of our company, in terms of content but also of geographical location as we extend throughout the world, we have chosen this new name so that it perfectly embodies who we are and the path we have taken. . Our new name allows us to leverage our rich history as a publishing partner, but also our remarkable and ever-growing international network of development studios and creative people. All this in order to continue to offer a high quality service to our partners, to highlight our ambition as a global player in the entertainment industry, but also to reinvent ourselves. Our wish is to be able to inspire our teams and partners, in order to enable them to reach their full potential.
Co-founder of Koch Media in 1994 with Franz Koch, Dr. Klemenz Kundratitz believes that Plaion must be able to connect its customers with unique entertainment experiences for the exchanges to be constructive:
