Unknown Worlds Entertainment teamed up with Mistborn author Brandon Sanderson to create Moonbreaker.
In Moonbreaker, players will form a team consisting of a captain and 10 additional units. They must then attempt to defeat the captain of their opponents and lead their troops to victory by strategically using their ship’s aids, the composition of their team or their knowledge of the map. They can compete against other players online or take part in offline challenges. In addition to these skirmishes, the game also features a Cargo Run mode. It offers a single-player experience filled with procedurally generated AI encounters, adding an almost “rogue-lite” element to the new American studio. Unknown Worlds Entertainment.
Moonbreaker is a declaration of love for miniatures to painter
Every aspect of Moonbreaker has been designed to replicate the feel of a physical miniatures game without the physical limitations. With detailed, intuitive and constantly evolving paint tools, players can customize their units like never before.
Mike Silbowitz, US Commercial Division Manager at Krafton, explains:
We offer a completely unique gaming experience that combines the depth of traditional miniatures gaming with the convenience of modern video game technology. Our partners at Unknown Worlds Entertainment have a history of making bold creative decisions, as evidenced by their success with the Subnautica and Natural Selection series, and we hope Moonbreaker continues that tradition. Launching the game in Early Access is just the beginning, as we’re excited to be able to support it with continued seasons and content updates.
A trailer for Moonbreaker
Inspired by games like Hearthstone and XCOM, as well as popular sci-fi franchises like Firefly and Guardians of the Galaxy, Moonbreaker will be available for early access on PC via Steam and Mac starting September 29.
Charlie Cleveland, co-founder and game director at Unknown Worlds Entertainment, says:
Moonbreaker was born out of a natural passion for miniatures gaming that many of us share within the studio. Our goal with this game is to reduce the traditional barriers associated with physical and miniature play while retaining what makes this genre so special. After several years of development, we are thrilled to officially reveal Moonbreaker and look forward to working with the community to evolve the game during Early Access.
