Expected for the summer of 2023, the NX2 electric maxi scooter wants to establish itself as one of the benchmarks in the field thanks to a range of 160 km and a top speed of 115 km/h. Enough to overshadow the BMW CE 04 or the Silence S01+, at least on paper.
In the field of electric scooters, many novelties today concern the category of 50 cc equivalents, although the 125 cc are not neglected either. Maxi electric scooters are becoming rarer: for example, we can cite the BMW CE 04, the Rider Ng or the Pink Fly.
Both powerful and imposing by their size, these machines easily approach 10,000 euros, or even sometimes exceed them. The fact is that a newcomer should land in this category of vehicles by the summer of 2023, we learn Hybrids and Electric. His nickname? The Next NX2, designed by the Spanish company Next Electric Motors.
Big autonomy on the menu
For the moment, the technical information known about it is scarce. But the main elements revealed still give desire, like its announced autonomy of 160 kilometers. By way of comparison, the BMW CE 04 has a theoretical range of 130 km, which drops to 100 km in practice according to the test of Numerama.
The Pink Fly promises a range of 130 km in Comfort mode: according to our test, its range actually drops to 100 km. Same song on the Silence S01 Plus side – 100 km done. What we notice is that the manufacturers have a slight tendency to overestimate the autonomy of their machines.
Nice top speed
In the idea, we can therefore assume that the 160 km of the Next NX2 may not be fully achieved. On the power side, you have to rely on a 7.2 kW engine, capable of providing it with a top speed of 115 km/h. Either a sufficient pace for the city and suburban roads.
Hybrids and Electric clarifies that the images posted online correspond to digital renderings of the scooter, and not to the look of the final product. Even if the design should come very close to it. For the moment, no price indication has been communicated. It is also not known if the Next NX2 will be launched in France.
