Let’s start with a look into the past: The startup was founded in 2016 by iTunes veteran Denzyl Feigelson and LoveFIlm co-founder Saul Klein. The service was intended to help discover up-and-coming artists in the field of music. In 2018, Apple took over the company, probably hoping to find new artists for its own streaming service.
Platoon for Artists – direct link only
The service has continued to run largely untouched since the takeover, but a few days ago Apple released its own app. Currently, this cannot be found via the search function, those who are interested need the direct link. The app description is rather poor:
Managing your artist career has never been easier. Platoon is your home to manage content, streams, earnings and more.
