While we are waiting for new phones from the Samsung Galaxy series, Samsung has decided to introduce a new, especially interesting feature. It is a function called Repair Mode. What is it about? You probably once found yourself in a situation where you had to take your phone in for service, and because of that you had to back up your data and restore the phone to its factory settings, so that your photos, videos, messages, emails and other sensitive data do not fall into the wrong hands. Then, after returning the phone, you would have to restore the backups, which creates additional work.

And that’s why there is Repair Mode, the function of which is to disable access to sensitive data, so service technicians will only be able to access the phone’s default applications. Repair Mode is activated by going to Settings, then Battery and Device Care, followed by restarting the phone. After your phone is returned, you can deactivate Repair Mode by entering a PIN or using your fingerprint, and after restarting the phone you will have access to all your data.

Repair Mode will first be available on Galaxy S21 series phones via a software update and only for users in South Korea. But it will come to some other Samsung phones in the future.
