It’s no secret that the Steam mobile app looks outdated and unintuitive, but the good news is that it will soon get a completely new visual identity.
Namely, Valve announced on its official blog that beta testers can already try the new mobile application of Steam, which brings a new software framework and a significant visual refresh.
“You’ll still be able to browse the store, get Steam Guard codes, and confirm trades, but the app now comes with QR code login, smarter notifications, an improved library, and support for multiple profiles,” according to Valve.
Immediately upon first entering the refreshed application, users will notice a new and more modern design. At the bottom of the screen there is a navigation bar with which you can go to the store, feed, Steam Guard, notifications and additional settings.
The most useful feature is certainly the ability to log in with a QR code, which greatly facilitates the entire security process. It is currently unknown when the new Steam app will become available for all users, but to test the beta version on Android and iOS, you can sign up via the following link.
