A closed beta of Diablo IV will be organized very soon. The public beta will arrive early next year. The focus will be on the endgame.
Blizzard intends to invite some of its biggest fans to play Diablo IV in the coming weeks. The studio indeed recently shared some details regarding a closed beta of the game. Using “specific game data”, Blizzard will select a select number of players who have recently spent “meaningful” time with the experiences beyond the main story found in Diablo II : Resurrected et Diablo III.

The public beta will arrive early next year
When the beta arrives, it will be playable on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PS4, with support for crossplay and cross-progression between supported platforms. If you are not selected for this beta phase, be aware that Blizzard has indicated that a public beta will be launched sometime early next year.
The focus will be on the endgame
The upcoming beta will focus on the endgame experience of Diablo IV, for a number of reasons. Blizzard explains that it does not want to spoil the game’s story before it is launched. This decision is also a reflection of how many players enjoy the games.
