Last night we reported on a new rendering of the charging case for the AirPods Pro 2, now Mark Gurman is speaking up with a final rumor. Apple’s new headphones are set to be unveiled at the iPhone 14 keynote on Wednesday.
AirPods Pro 2 without a new design?
The rumor mill has had a lot going for the new headphones over the past few months. In the meantime, everyone seems to agree: hardly any new design and only a few new functions. The new charging case is said to remain 21mm thick, while said to be 46mm high and 54mm wide. In comparison: The current charging case of the AirPods Pro measures 45.2 mm in height and 60.6 mm in width.
The headphones will be codenamed B698, and the new version features the H1 processor and a new audio processor. This could support LC3 as a codec via Bluetooth 5.2.
