HONOR unveils two flagship strategy, MagicOS 7.0 plans and new products, including HONOR 70 at IFA 2022
On the IFA stage for the first time since the company’s independence, HONOR CEO George Zhao outlines the brand’s commitment to innovation and open collaboration.
Global technology brand HONOR reaffirmed its commitment to international markets in its IFA presentation entitled “Embracing the Connected Future.” During the event, HONOR announced a new two-flagship strategy to bring the next foldable and all-in-one flagship smartphones to Europe and other international markets. HONOR also unveiled MagicOS 7.0, an upcoming all-scenario smart collaboration OS based on Android as well as PC and IoT operating systems, embracing open standards to facilitate seamless collaboration between smartphones, tablets, computers and other IoT products. Strengthening its innovative product portfolio, HONOR introduced three new products: HONOR 70, HONOR MagicBook 14 and HONOR Pad 8, the first HONOR tablet available outside of China. All three products should arrive in selected European markets in the coming weeks.
Bringing HONOR Talents to the global stage, HONOR also unveiled Gateway to the Future, a global initiative starting in Hamburg, Germany with the aim of inspiring creative talents from around the world to use the power of technology to connect people with culture in the era of the metaverse.

Embracing the connected future with the new two-flagship strategy and MagicOS

For the first time, HONOR will introduce its flip smartphones to international markets. Announced during IFA 2022, the two-flagship strategy will allow HONOR to bring its upcoming flip smartphones and all-in-one smartphones to Europe and other regions around the world.
HONOR also introduced MagicOS 7.0, a new OS designed to provide a seamless experience across and across platforms. It is based on Android as well as PC and IoT operating systems, so devices with different OS can connect to MagicOS devices at the system level. Along with new user interface changes, MagicOS 7.0 will allow users to control HONOR notebook, smartphone and tablet with a single keyboard and mouse. With this feature, users can seamlessly download files across various devices, as well as type text into a smartphone or tablet using a laptop keyboard. MagicOS 7.0 will be officially released in the fourth quarter of 2022.
In line with its commitment to contributing to the wider industry, HONOR announced that it has joined various IoT consortia, including Matter and Ola, helping to formulate common industry standards that promote open collaboration. In addition, the new HONOR Developers Service Platform will provide direct support and services to developers. Among the many services available, developers can submit their apps to the App Market and Game Center through the platform. Further marking its commitment to cross-device functionality, HONOR is expanding its partnership with Microsoft to bring phone link to international HONOR device users. Previously only available to HONOR users in China, Phone Link allows users to connect select HONOR smartphones to Windows PCs to unlock new capabilities across devices, including the ability to view notifications, make and receive calls on a PC, and use Windows mobile apps. The HONOR Magic4 Pro is one of the first international HONOR smartphone models to support Phone Link, while the honor 70 will also support Phone Link after an OTA update.
Furthermore, from October, the upgraded HONOR Health app will provide personalized customized user interfaces and offer fitness suggestions and training courses according to user habits, helping smartphone users achieve their health goals.
Introducing the HONOR 70 to the global market, a Vlogging masterpiece
Designed for vlogging enthusiasts, the HONOR 70 is the latest addition to HONOR’s premium N Series smartphone lineup. The sleek device debuts Solo Cut mode, which allows users to record two videos simultaneously, with one containing a single subject and the other capturing an entire group.
Recording high-quality vlogs is easy with the HONOR 70 thanks to the powerful dual main camera consisting of a 54 MP super sensor main camera with a large 1/1.49-inch IMX800 sensor and a 50 MP ultra-wide and macro camera. The new smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus 5G and supports GPU Turbo X and OS Turbo X, delivering smooth performance and a responsive experience for a range of demanding tasks, including video editing for vloggers who are always on the go.
The HONOR 70 is the first HONOR N series smartphone to run the latest HONOR Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 12 and is available in a range of stylish color options including Midnight Black, Crystal Silver and Emerald Green.
In recognition of the excellent user experience on the HONOR 70, the Professional Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) awarded the smartphone the EISA BEST BUY SMARTPHONE 2022-2023 award. EISA is a professional community of over 60 of the world’s most respected consumer electronics magazines, websites and social media commentators from 29 countries.
HONOR 70 will be available in Croatia from September 2, and the recommended retail price for the HONOR 70 8gb 128gb model is HRK 4,099, and the 8gb 256gb version is HRK 4,499.
HONOR MagicBook 14, the mobile powerhouse of productivity

The new HONOR tablet combines a 12-inch 2K HONOR FullView display with a screen-to-body ratio of 87% and supports a resolution of 2000×1200 pixels and a billion colors with eight built-in speakers to provide immersive multimedia experiences on the go. With HONOR Magic UI 6.1 and Google Play services, HONOR Pad 8 has a high-capacity 7250mAh battery for all-day connectivity, allowing users to stay connected at all times. The launch of the tablet represents the completion of the global portfolio of HONOR products; consumers in select European and international markets will soon have access to every HONOR series of smartphones and IoT products, marking a new milestone for HONOR.
Step into the Gateway to the future

Unveiled during HONOR’s IFA keynote session, Gateway to the Future is a new HONOR Talents initiative designed to enrich cultural heritage with the power of technology. In collaboration with ARLOOPA, HONOR challenged two renowned artists – Yunuene and Tim Helgert – to creatively reimagine the iconic Wasserschloss building located in Hamburg’s Speicherstadt, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Introducing HONOR surround sound
Announced during IFA 2022, HONOR’s Spatial Audio solution is designed to enable headsets to produce wide, cinematic 3D sound effects that create the sense of immersion needed for next-generation AR and VR experiences.
HONOR’s surround sound is the first to support sound externalization distance adjustment, providing users with dynamic distance adjustment of virtual sound sources from 0.15 to 10 meters to suit a more personalized listening experience.
HONOR Talents: Applications for the interactive AR artwork category are now open
Complementing the initiative, HONOR introduced a dedicated Interactive AR Artwork category as part of its HONOR Talents global design competition. Within the category, contestants are invited to produce digital AR artworks that creatively transform their neighborhoods, including digital overlays for buildings, walls, parks and other public spaces, helping communities connect with culture. HONOR also partnered with the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in China to create a new AR artwork called INFINITY. The phy-gital experience depicts an artistic interpretation of space, which a creative team of CAFA faculty members and students uses as an analogy to promote intercultural dialogue.
