“Stories” are videos and photos that people share on Instagram for 24 hours. These are small news dots, which can be accessed by clicking on the profile picture – a colored circle surrounds the medallion to indicate the availability of new stories. The application also highlights profiles that have stories.
It is possible to keep the stories of your choice for more than 24 hours, by pinning them. This is called putting a story on the front page, in the jargon. This feature is easy to activate: just post your story as usual. Once online, go to it and click on the “Featured” button at the bottom of the screen.
At that point, you have two options: you can add your story to an already featured stories category or set it apart in a new element. Of course, you can decide at any time to remove one or more stories that you had pinned. You need to click on the stories and the vertical ellipsis, with the mention “More”.
You must have an Instagram account to see the photos of a profile on the social network (or go through the back door). It’s the same for stories. The privacy rules for stories follow those of your account (whether it’s public or private). You can hide the story for this or that person, but you must first tell the service who you are excluding.
Adding a featured story on Instagram
- Launch the Instagram app on your smartphone;
- Add your story as usual;
- Click on your profile picture;
- Choose the “Featured” icon on the story you want to keep;
- Indicate whether you want to add it to an existing element or to a new one;
- Give a name if it is the second scenario and validate;
- That’s all !
